Erasmus+ mobility

Latvian Maritime Academy (LMA) is awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education for the period from 1st January 2021 to 31st December 2029.  LMA ERASMUS Policy Statement is available here.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers Order No. 492 of 06.07.2022 "On the Reorganization of the Latvian Maritime Academy", as of 01.11.2022 Latvian Maritime Academy is integrated into Riga Technical University.

Application for Erasmus+ exchange studies at RTU is organized through website incomingexchange.rtu.lv. Student has to register, fill out all the information that is required and receive an approval from RTU Erasmus+ coordinator.

LMA provides the following institutional support measures for teacher/student mobility:

  • Courses in English offered for incoming students in accordance with the previously signed Learning Agreement for studies;
  • Courses in English for exchange students in MSc degree study programme “Maritime Transport”
  • Accommodation in the LMA hostel or students’ dormitory;
  • Assistance in the process of obtaining visa, if necessary, and any other necessary support for incoming students and teachers;
  • RTU LMA curricula conform to the Bologna system and the national credit points are transferred into the ECTS credit system.

Since 2006 the LMA campus is located right next to the main LMA study building, in the outskirts of Riga – approximately a 30 minutes drive from the city centre. The campus comprises several buildings including the LMA main study building (Mācību korpuss), administrative office, study centre with a comprehensive maritime library, mechanical and welding workshops, dormitory and hostel for visiting students and LMA staff.
