Conferences and seminars

RTU Latvian Maritime Academy aims to become the leader in classical and smart maritime education in the Baltic Sea region, developing as a centre of science and competence, therefore scientific conferences on maritime topics are organised on a regular and targeted basis to provide an opportunity for students, staff and industry representatives to discuss topical issues in the maritime industry.
Since 2014, LMA has been organising yearly International Maritime History Readings, with the last edition taking place in 2022 in an online format. The International Maritime History Readings have brought together researchers not only from the Baltic Sea region, but also from the maritime history research centres in the USA, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Norway, Finland and Sweden.

 

International online conference "Sustainability of Maritime Innovations 2023"

Between 2012 and 2018 Latvian Maritime Academy in collaboration with Estonian Maritime Academy and Lithuanian Maritime Academy twice a year published a collection of research articles "Journal of Maritime Transport and Engineering".

Information about the publication:
The Journal provides a forum for the reporting and discussion on technical and scientific issues associated with the maritime transport, engineering and technology. Contributions in the form of scientific papers on various aspects of maritime science, including logistics, economics and management, education, history and psychology.
